Jurgens Anna Margaret Bigler, age 93, of Mpls, passed away on Jan. 12, 2002. Anna, a native of Clermont, IA, was born on July 30, 1908, the youngest child of Fred & Kate Bigler. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Nicolay, and her two brothers, Charles and Floyd Bigler. Anna spent her youth in Clermont. She was an excellent student who often played the piano at the local opera house for silent movies and school plays. She was a beautiful and popular girl who made many lifelong friends. Anna graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1928 and returned to her home town of Clermont to teach school. She married Nicolay Jurgens on June 17, 1930. Anna and Nick made their home in Minneapolis, where they raised six children. Anna will be remembered for her ability to quietly influence people, not only by her words, but also by her example. She always encouraged people to be kind and patient with each other and to get along with one another. Her life was one of dedication, service and devotion to her family and to her friends, both new and old. She accepted all that came her way, losing neither her childlike wonder of the world's beauty, nor her strong faith in God. Anna is survived by her six children, Joan Seeler (Richfield, MN), Janice Vandercar (Decatur, IL), Judy Hogan (Hillsboro, MO), Jerry Jurgens (Burnsville, MN), John Jurgens (Rathdrum, ID), Jane Jurgens (Minneapolis, MN), her 27 grandchildren, 45 great- grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Wed., Jan 16, at Werness Brothers Funeral Chapel, 3500 W. 50th St., Mpls. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Donations to St. Stephen's Shelter and Second Harvest will be accepted in lieu of flowers. Interment Crystal Lake Cemetery, Mpls.
