Bearman, Shirley Resnick age 96, died peacefully on Sunday, May 7. Shirley was born in Duluth and raised in St Paul. She graduated from St Paul Central High School in 1938, and from the University of Minnesota in 1942. She married Jacob "Pete" Bearman on July 9, 1942, and traveled with him to his Army postings in this country until he was sent overseas through the end of World War II. After the war, Shirley and Pete lived in Israel from 1951-53 with their two older children, and again in 1968-69. They lived in Minneapolis and raised their family there until 1978 when they moved to Beersheva, Israel. Shirley continued to live in Beersheva after Pete died in 2005, until she moved back to Minneapolis in 2012. Shirley worked as a social worker in St Paul, Minneapolis, and Israel. She was an active community volunteer wherever she lived, especially as a member and leader of Hadassah. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jacob "Pete" Bearman, parents David & Edith (Binder) Resnick, brother and sister-in-law Arnold & Ruth Resnick, sister Hazel Skora and son-in-law Pini Lutman. She is survived by her children Ken Bearman (Karla Larsen), Debby Jewett (Ted), Diane Bearman (David Saltzman) all of Minneapolis, and Abby Lutman of Kibbutz Ketura, Israel; grandchildren Ethan Jewett (Patricia), Sagui Lutman, David Jewett (Sara), Nitzan Lutman and Carmel Lutman; great-grandchil-dren Ruthie Jewett and Judith Jewett; brother and sister-in-law Harlan and Shirley Resnick; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends in Minnesota and Israel.
