Gerald '(Jerry)' Mortenson

Mortenson, Gerald (Jerry) Age 79, of Stone Lake, WI and Englewood, FL, formerly of Bloomington, MN passed away March 31, 2017, in FL. After graduating from Augsburg College, Jerry spent his career teaching Junior High math, phy.ed., and shop in Richfield, MN. Following his retirement he spent a few years working in the Media Lab at Kennedy H.S. in Bloomington. Jerry loved to build things cars, model boats and airplanes, a hovercraft, houses and a garage. His favorite time was at our lake home in Wisconsin, especially when our granddaughters came to visit. Jerry will be greatly missed by Karen, his wife of 54 years; daughters, Pamela (Pat) Prokop of St. Paul, MN, and Jill (Alex) Gause of Shakopee, MN; granddaughters, Samantha and Elena; step-grandsons, Matt and Spencer; mother Dorothy Mortenson of Englewood, FL; brother, Robert (Susan) Mortenson of Shoreview, MN; sisters Judith Geithman and Linda (Ken) Schloegel, both of Englewood, FL. He was preceded in death by his father Chester (Speed) Mortenson. A gathering to celebrate Jerry's life will be held on June 17 at the VFW in Shakopee, MN, btwn 11:00 and 3:00.
