Grosskopf, Daniel James age 59, of Farmington, loving and devoted husband and father, was peacefully taken home to his Father in heaven on Father's Day, June 15, 2014. Memories of Dan's strong spirit and caring heart will be treasured by his family and many friends. Dan lived life to the fullest. He was always upbeat and the coolest father and uncle a kid could have. Dan believed, "It's not where you are, it's who you are with." His personal life reflected that. He centered on his faith and took an active role in his church. His free time focused on family, music, fun times and friends. He especially loved Summerfest in Milwaukee, barbeque and blues, and downhill ski trips in Colorado. With a degree from Stout University, Dan began his career in the medical field starting at Wausau Insurance in MN. He worked as a manager at Family Physicians and Quello Clinic, now part of Allina Health, for more than 30 years. As a longtime advocate for Minnesota Medical Group Management Association, Dan has worked passionately to build a scholarship fund to make educational opportunities available to scores of members. Many people have been touched by Dan's work and are profoundly grateful for his many contribu-tions. To honor Dan's work, the MMGMA recently announced the scholarship will be renamed The Grosskopf Education Fund. Dan was born August 24, 1954, in Wausau, Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Ilean Grosskopf. He is survived by his loving family including wife Deanna; daughters Amanda & Rachael; step-sons Eric & Brady Oslund; brothers Darrell (Charlotte) Grosskopf, Dallas; Kenneth (Janice) Gross-kopf, Green Bay; sister Janice (Ralf) Bates, Mound; nieces and nephews Stephanie, Scott, Debra, Vicci, Kurt, Stephen, Tera and their families. We will celebrate Dan's life on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Crossroads Church in Lakeville, MN. Visitation will be from 11 am - 1 pm, with the service starting at 1 pm followed by a luncheon.caringbridge.org. In lieu of flowers, Dan would like memorials to be made to Pastor Jeremiah's new church, Uptown Church-MN.
