Joel D. Kangas

Kangas Joel D., age 62, of Tower, MN, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002 at Virginia Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his children, Lynn (Robert) Cheney of Centerville, MN and John (Melanie) Kangas of Burnsville, MN; mother, Laura Kangas of Soudan; two grandsons, Ben Cheney and Hunter Bergum; two sisters, Jackie Kangas of Soudan and Betsy (John) Bystrom of Tower; a brother, Paul (Sue) Kangas of Mt. Iron; and nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and his father. A Memorial Service for Joel was held January 2, 2003 at Embarrass Ev. Free Church, Pastor Marlin Bjornrud officiated. Military Honors were accorded by the Babbitt Foreign Legion Color Guard. Inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Mpls. Memorials are preferred.
