Chafoulias Anna. A private Greek Orthodox burial service for Anna Chafoulias was held Wednesday, December 11 at the Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church with Father Anthony Coniaris of Minneapolis and Father Nicholas Kasemeotes of Rochester, Minnesota officiating. Born on January 7, 1907, she passed away Monday evening, December 9th at the Charter House in Rochester. Mrs. Chafoulias, 95 years old, spent her winters in Sun City, Arizona, where she was instrumental in forming the St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. She was honored by christening the new parish, named after her patron Saint and childhood church, located in Kalavrita, Greece. In 1930, she married Andrew Chafoulias in Patras, Greece, and they came to the U.S.A. to settle in Rochester, Minnesota, to raise, with Christian doctrine and ideas, their family. Survivors include three sons, Gus (Ann), Theodore (Dianne), both from Rochester and James of Edina, Minnesota and two daughters, Kalliope of Sun City, Arizona and Mary Dascalos of Glendale, Arizona; seven grandchildren & eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a grandson. The Chafoulias families prefer memorials to Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, 703 West Center Street, Rochester, MN 55902. Macken Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
