Joan Helen (Lundquist) Roy

Roy, Joan Helen Lundquist age 90, of Edina, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2017. Joan is survived by her husband of 66 years, Curt Roy; four children, Cathy Thatcher (Steve), Steve Roy (Susan), Mary Fisher (Jim), and Barb Hatch (Tom); 11 grandchil-dren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Born in Granite Falls in 1926, Joan graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in early childhood education. Known for her incredible grace and compassion, she was a longtime volunteer at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and an active member of Colonial Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and visited all seven continents (including Antarctica!). Joan will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held on February 25 at 10 a.m. at Colonial Church of Edina (6200 Colonial Way). Donations in Joan's honor may be sent to Colonial Church of Edina or the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation.
