Allen Franzen

Franzen Allen. Retired career teacher at Forest Lake High School, passed away at his home in Forest Lake. He began his career in Forest Lake in 1966 after graduation from the University of Minnesota with honors. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. His expertise in Spanish impacted hundreds of Forest Lake Senior High School students. Senor, as he was better known to this students and friends, also earned an LLD from William Mitchell College of Law. In retirement, he was an indispensable substitute in Forest Lake Area Schools. He is survived by his sister, Connie Tyler of Chisholm; brother, Timothy (Fatima) Franzen of Bloomington; beloved nieces, Kim and Tracy; nephew, Patrick; numerous grandnephews and grandnieces; and many colleagues and friends in education and the community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evald & Irene (Olson) Franzen and brother, Robert. Funeral service 3 PM Saturday, November 1, 2003 at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation one hour prior to service at church.
