Patterson, Doris Elaine (Olson) age 93, of Plymouth, passed away August 19, 2016. She was born June 23, 1923, to Axel and Adeline Olson in Minneapolis, MN. A graduate of North High in June 1941, she was a member of King of Grace Lutheran Church in Golden Valley. Doris enjoyed making a difference in people's lives through her many hours of volunteer service. In 1995, she received the Vern Tatton Award for her volunteerism in School District 281. A cancer survivor herself, Doris spent many hours helping other cancer patients through her service to the American Cancer Society. She loved the Lord, her family and her many friends. She enjoyed family trips, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing games (Scrabble, Bingo and 500), the color purple, butterflies, and whimsical socks. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, daughter Patricia Estey Lewis, son-in-law Danney Estey, sister Janet Engen, an infant sister, and brothers Gerald and Donald Olson. Survived by her three children: Rebecca (Robert) Whitesel, Tim (Nancy) Patterson, and Kim (Tom) Studanski. She is also survived by sister-in-law Beverly Olson, son-in-law Dave Lewis, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral service 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, with visitation one hour prior at: King of Grace Lutheran Church, 6000 Duluth Street, Golden Valley. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to King of Grace, West Lutheran High School, or the American Cancer Society.
