Katherine Eldrid Olson

Olson Katherine Eldrid, age 88, passed away Jan. 3, 2001. She was born Aug. 23, 1913 on a farm near Badger, MN, the daughter of Walther & Alma (Lind) Anderson. On Jan. 27, 1934, she married Otto Olson in Grand Forks, ND. She was a homemaker, and also worked many part-time jobs. She was a cook for the Big Island Disabled Veterans (family vacation camp) in Excelsior, MN from 1958-1978. She also cooked at the NU SIGMA NU Medical Fraternity House at the University of Minnesota from 1966 to 1986. Survived by her children, Rebecca ``Becky'' (Curtis) Johnson of Badger, MN, Clayton ``Punky'' (Helen) Olson of Bethel Park, PA, and Douglas (Marjy) Olson of Gary, IN; grandsons, Steven and Matthew Olson of Bethel Park, PA, and also 14 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Otto in 1969; 2 borthers & 2 sisters. Funeral service 10 am Monday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Badger. Visitation 5-7 pm Sunday at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau, and also one hour prior to the service at church. A devotional service will be held at 7 pm Sunday at Helgeson's.
