Bell, Robert Charles (Bob) Local attorney. Age 87, of Roseville. Died February 10, 2014. Bob grew up in the Como Park area, graduated from Murray High School 1944. Served in the U.S. Army, Japan, 1944 - 46. In 1950 Bob graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School. He formed Peterson, Bell and Converse in 1962 (now Erickson, Bell, Beckman & Quinn). Bob was a state representative from 1966-74 for Roseville area. He was the Roseville City attorney for 36 years; served as special assistant Ramsey County attorney for Long Lake Regional Park acquisition; was a Ramsey County Charter commission member from 2000-08; and was a Rotarian Paul Harris Fellow. He was an avid outdoorsman, skier, bridge player, golfer (Midland Hills), forester (member Minnesota Forestry and Minnesota Maple Syrup Producers Associations), hunter and fly fisherman. Bob was a devoted, loving husband, dad, grandpa, father-in-law, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He is sorely missed. Survived by wife Carmen of 59 years; daughters, Caroline Beckman (Dan) and Alison McGinnity (Tony); grandchildren, Sam, John, Julia and Emma; brothers- in-law, Wilfrid J. Anderson and Walter Law; nephews, Jim Erickson (Rita) and Charles Law; nieces, Barbara Ryan, Susie Engberg (Duane), and Wendy Gray (Fred); grandnieces and nephews; and black lab Cooper. Preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Esther Bell; sisters, Jeanette Law and Margaret Erickson; and brother- in-law, Carl Erickson. Heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Miguel Ruiz and his staff at Regions Hospital. Memorials preferred to American Lung Association of Minnesota (Pulmonary Fibrosis) or Minnesota Conservation Volunteer.
