Walmann, Marvel Helene (Byhre) Marvel passed away January 24th, due to heart failure. She was born to Otto and Agnes (Sandvig) Byhre in Starbuck, MN on January 21, 1937, the name Marvel chosen because of the unexpectedness of her birth following that of her twin, Mary. Marvel was preceded in death by her husband, Don (2012) and their son, Timothy (2009). Marvel is survived by her son, Steven; her twin Mary; and brothers, Otto Byhre, Jr. and Taik Chong Lee, and by son, Tim's widow, Linda Walmann, and their families. Prior to retirement, Marvel was a long time, dedicated employee in the City of Minneapolis Attorney's Office. She and her husband of more than 50 years were deeply involved in Christ Church Lutheran activities. After Don's death in 2012, members of the church rallied to make it possible for Marvel to continue her participation until her death. She particularly relished her part in the church's bell choir. Marvel will be remembered for her sweet and gentle nature and also for the importance she placed on family. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Lutheran, 3244 34th Ave S. at 2 PM, Wednesday, February 5, with visitation at 1 PM and a reception to follow the service. Memorials to Christ Church preferred.
