Rolloff, Thomas Edwin Age 76 of Bloomington passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2014. Survived by loving wife of 51 years, Mary Ann, and much loved children Aaron (Peggy), Amy Marker (Bill), Sloane Tyler (Eric); Sarah Johnson (Todd) and 11 grandchildren, Thomas Arthur Rolloff; Morgan, Payton, Tommy Marker; Sasha, Grayson, Vaughn and Delaine Tyler; Reilly, Tate and Vance Johnson, sister-in-law Linda Holstein, niece Amelia Bailey, as well as cousins and many friends. Tom was born in Tyler, MN and grew up in his beloved hometown of Balaton. Preceded in death by mother Ruth, father Eddie, and sister Marjorie. Graduated from Balaton High School and Hamline University where he was a proud member of the Piper baseball team. Obtained a PhD in Educational Administration from the University of MN. Tom was a math teacher, a school counselor and a high school principal. He worked in Houston and Appleton MN, Blue Island IL, Bloomington, Shakopee, and ended his career as principal of Farmington High School. After retiring from Farmington, Tom taught at Concordia University and was the Executive Secretary of the Tri Metro and Missota Conferences. A lifelong learner, Tom loved reading and traveled to many countries. He especially loved sports of all kinds and coached his three daughters in all sports throughout their childhoods, in addition to countless hours spent practicing with them. He actively supported his son's musical pursuits as well. He was an avid golfer and continued to win nickels from his golf group 6 months after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He played banjo and sang in community musical theater productions and spent many years in the Generation Gap Singers. All who knew him will miss his wit and repartee. He was an active member of his church for 47 years and his life will be celebrated at St Michael's Lutheran Church, 9201 Normandale Blvd, Bloomington on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 11:00 with visitation 1 hour prior.
