Erickson, Gary 60, died May 18 of heart failure. An assistant art professor at Macalester College, Gary taught hundreds of students over the years. His work was exhibited nationally, and held in private collections including the Smithsonian Institute's Renwick Gallery. Gary was a gifted ceramics artist, an upbeat salsa instructor, avid golfer--and all around good guy. Born Dec. 22, 1955 in Rush City to Lawrence and Wanda (Booth) Erickson, he held a BA from Hamline Univ. and an MFA from Alfred Univ. He worked extensively in Jingdezhen, China. Survived by Wanda Erickson of North Branch, brother Todd Erickson of Taylors Falls, sister Ellen Grams of Superior, Wis. and nephews Rob Grams of Braham MN and Rick Grams of North Branch. Visitation is May 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. Service is May 26 at 11 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rush City.
