Shapiro, Gertrude (Leder) "Geta" "Trudy" age 83, of St. Louis Park, died January 26, 2013. Full of fun and with a great love of people, Geta formed friendships wherever she went. She was a manager of Yellow Page sales at Northwestern Bell for many years, her success in no small part due to her sincere interest in celebrating the success of her customers and staff. Geta had a talent for making every person she met feel special, talented and loved. Geta could always be counted on as a driver for her friends, especially if it meant having some fun or getting a mahjong game going. She took great joy in her children and grandchildren. A more generous heart could not be found. She will be missed by her family and friends as well as those she knew for even a short time. Preceded in death by her husband, Sol; parents, Abraham & Anna Leder; son, Charles Goldstein; and sisters, Jean Schwartz and Betty Zeman. Survived by children, David Ira (Michele) Goldstein, Jeff (Nanci) Shapiro, and Marcy (Mike) Huggins; grandchildren, Beth (Scott Boscapomi) and Dan (Nikki) Shapiro, Rochelle, Alan and Charles Goldstein; and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Morton (Sally) Leder and Leonard (Barbara) Leder, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services 1:30 pm TUESDAY at the UNITED HEBREW BROTHERHOOD CHAPEL at 2605 70-1/2 Street, Richfield (Chapel is located in middle of the block). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet Clinic, The Arizona Theater Company, or Helping Paws of Minnesota. If you are able, please give blood to your local blood bank to repay the generosity of so many others who helped Geta.
