Peter Carl Lindquist was born May 6, 1939 in Swaziland, South Africa to Reverend Swante & Marion (Clare) Lindquist. Pete's first years were spent as the son of missionary parents. At the age of six, Pete and his family left Africa and came to the United States. Pete lived in Mahtomedi through his elementary school years and in 1949 moved to Monticello where he graduated in 1957. Pete was united in marriage to Muriel Bergstrom at the Buffalo Evangelical Covenant Church August 1, 1959. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Mortuary Science degree in 1961 and served in Mountain Lake and Fulda. In 1964, Pete moved to Pipestone where he owned the Lindquist Funeral Chapel until 1984. In 1984, Pete moved to the Buffalo area with funeral homes in Buffalo, Monticello and Clearwater. In 1996, Pete authored and published the book, ``Before It's Too Late.'' Most recently, Pete worked as a funeral director for the Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels in Minneapolis. Pete died of cancer at home January 1, 2002 at the age of 62. Pete is lovingly remembered by Muriel, his wife of 42 years; daughters, Deborah (Jerry) Dietz of Sunnyvale, CA, Linda (Jerry) Betzler of Grand Rapids, MN, Stacy (Tim) Haubrich of Pipestone, MN and Valerie ``V.J.'' (Eric) Anderson of Buffalo, MN; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Carol Ellingson of Maple Lake, MN, Anne Florell of Monticello, MN, Judy (Doug) Bergstrom of Buffalo, MN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nony & Sonny Nelson, Eldon & Jan Olson, Chuck & Caralyn Bergstrom, Reverend Don & Debi Bergstrom, Ginny Semelsberger, Dale & Pam Bergstrom; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cindy; his parents and his brother, Eddy. Funeral service will be Monday, 11 am at the Buffalo Evangelical Covenant Church in Buffalo, MN. Burial will be in the Swedish Mission Cemetery, Buffalo, MN. Visitation Sunday, 4-9 pm at the Peterson Funeral Chapel, Buffalo, MN with a prayer service at 7 pm. Peterson Chapel 763-682-1363
