White, Avis N. age 90, of Orono, MN. Born Nov. 11, 1921 in Becker, MN, died peacefully May 24, 2012 at her home in Orono, MN surrounded by her family. Avis graduated valedictorian from Menahga High School in Menahga, MN, attended St. Olaf College, the University of Minnesota, and Minnesota School of Business. She met her husband Robert White in Minneapolis, and they were married in 1953. Avis and Bob remained in the area and raised their family there. They belonged to the Wayzata Country Club, the Lafayette Country Club, and the Minneapolis Club, and enjoyed traveling and socializing with family and friends. They wintered in Carefree, AZ from 1980 to 2009, and belonged to Desert Forest Golf Club and Desert Mountain Club while there. Avis was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Robert White; her parents, Carl and Susan Hasbargen; and brother-in-law Ken Peterson. She is survived by her three sons, Rob (Susan), Greg (Lynn), Steve (Patty); seven granddaughters, Stacy, Julie, Summer, Audra, Samantha, Taylor, and Halle; sister, Yvonne Peterson and brother, Roger Hasbargen (Sigrid). Avis was a long time volunteer and supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Minneapolis. She will be fondly remembered by her family as the most loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be deeply missed. One of her greatest joys was to be surrounded by and to spend time with her family. A private memorial service with the family is planned. If desired, memorial contributions to the Boys & Girls Club of Minneapolis; or Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake, MN would be greatly appreciated.
