Vick, Leonard R. age 85 of Edina, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. Survived by wife of 59 years Edris; children, Michelle (Allen), Richard (Ann), Jon, Daniel (Jillian); his pride and joy grandchildren, Alexandra, Caleb, Adam, Jasmin, Paige; sister Vivian Lanes and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Ida (Scheer) and Reginald Vick; brothers Lloyd, Ordean, Melvin and Orien. Born in Wood Lake, MN, raised in Boyd, MN. Served in the Army's 104th Infantry Division which helped liberate the Nordhausen prison camp in Europe. Attended several business schools. Employed by the Railroad as a telegrapher and freight agent for 18 years. Manager of Northern Cargo Association for 26 years. Member of Central Lutheran Church, Mpls Traffic Club, Morse Telegraph Club, Hopkins American Legion. Hobbies included church and volunteer work. Memorial services will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at Central Lutheran Church at 11:00 am. One hour prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Central Lutheran Church, Mpls.
