McBride, Roy Chester Sunrise: December 29, 1943 Magnolia, AK Sunset: July 29, 2011 Minneapolis, MN Mr. Roy Chester McBride was the first born into the union of Roger and Lacinea McBride, who preceded him in death. His passing is mourned by his loving wife, Lucinda Rusk Anderson, beautiful beloved daughter, Lacinea Tyler McBride; sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Sanders & Mrs. Evelyn (Melvin) Evans, Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Beverly K. McBride, and brother- in-law, Tyler Woods Anderson. Roy was a conjurer of spoken word, historical visionary, master improviser, devoted teacher and visual artist. With various collaborators, he co-founded Poetry for the People, the Powderhorn Writers Festival, the Continental Historical Reclamation Project, and the Dream Band, among others. A connecter of people, he delighted in the interconnectedness of all creation, and he welcomed the creativity in everyone he met.
