Scheid, Linda Jayne (Longabaugh) 68, of Brooklyn Park, died peacefully at home in the presence of those who loved her most. The woman who read the obits in the Star Tribune each and every day is finally getting to make an appearance! Graduated from St. Louis Park High School, 1960. B.A., Coe College 1964, J.D., Wm. Mitchell College of Law, 1989 Peace Corps, Asmara, Ethiopia, 1964-66, Brooklyn Park League of Women Voters, Mrs. Jaycees. Real Estate 10 & Counselor Realty, 1979-1982. Minnesota House of Representatives, 1977-1979, 1983-1991. Burnet Realty, 1991-1994, Minnesota Senate, 1997-2011. Survived by "seester", Becky Longabaugh, sons, Scott (Jennifer) and Kristofer (Amanda) and two precious granddaughters, Veronika & Vivian, former husband, Dean Scheid (Karen). Aunt Charlotte (Sutliff) Sayre, Uncle Elbert (Ebb) Sutliff of St. Louis Park, Uncle Keith (Shirley) Longabaugh. Her beloved Sutliff cousins, David, Dennis, Peggy, Garry, Heide, Neil, Pauline, Marty & Naomi, & others too many to name here. Linda & her family want to thank Dr. Mohammad Rahman and Dr. John Savage and their wondrous staffs for their care. For their encouragement and unwavering support and loyalty, her good friends and colleagues, Paula Thompson, Sandy Neren, Kathy Hahne, Jamie Smith, Bev Messick, Senators Ann Rest, Dan Sparks & John Marty, Representatives Debra Hilstrom & Mike Nelson, her KD Sisters and numerous others. She lived & loved the "good life" in Minnesota, especially the family cabin in Northern Minnesota! Per her wishes, Linda has donated her body to the University of Minnesota.
