Carney, Douglas J. 72, of Bloomington passed full of peace in Jesus on Tues. Oct 5th at the Amazing Augustana Emerald Crest Memory Care Facility in Shakopee. His wife Lenie and Heartland Hospice nurse Merritt were with him. Doug was diagnosed 4 years ago with Alzheimer's which took him suddenly. EVERYONE who new Doug, loved him because of humble, humorous and loving spirit. A man of great integrity and intelligence. After graduating from the U of M law school, he practiced law in Minneapolis for 41 years. A man who loved his family, close friends, the outdoors, old wooden boats, grouse hunting and quiet times. Doug knew who he was in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the source of all our blessings and hope in this world. Doug is survived by his wife/"best pal" Lenie of 44 years; daughter, Kristina Caneff (Alan); son, Jason (Kari); grandchildren, Tiffany Sullivan (Brad), Coco and Alex; great-granddaughter, Destyni. A memorial celebration will be held Mon., Oct 11, at St Michael's Lutheran Church, 9201 Normandale Ave. in Bloomington. Preview at 10 AM with service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Alzheimer's Research Association are preferred.
