Amundson, John Bertil John passed away on September 26, 2010 in South Lake Tahoe, CA. At the age of 70, he passed peacefully after a lengthy and courageous battle with Emphysema. John lived in Minneapolis, where he worked for 13 years as a buyer for The Union Scrap Iron and Metal Co. Then he established and managed his own trucking company as the sole owner/ operator. In 1995 John moved to Phoenix, Az., working until his illness made retiring necessary. John was always willing to help a friend in need and will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. John was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his children, sisters and extended family: son John Jr., of South Lake Tahoe, CA; daughter Linda Gilbertson of Carson City, NV and daughters, Lisa Schwartz and Hillary; sisters, Carol of Scottsdale, AZ and Sharon of Minneapolis; many grandchildren, nephews and nieces. A private service for family will be held at a later date in Big Lake, MN. Memorials can be sent to or arranged with any COPD/ Emphysema Chapter.
