Drew, Mark E. 65, beloved spouse, father, and friend, died early Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 after a courageous struggle with an imperfect world and a personal war with lung cancer. Mark's defining traits were his service as a 1st Lieutenant on a Special Forces A-team in the central highlands of Vietnam, where he trained and fought beside the Montagnard tribesmen; his pride and unconditional love for his family and his unfailing support for their endeavors; and his intelligence, creativity, curiosity and unconventional sense of humor. Those who will miss Mark most include wife Mary of Eden Prairie; family Justin, Elizabeth, Alaina and Jillian of Milwaukee, Zachary of Minneapolis, and Krista and Josh Kleve of Belle Plaine; brother Steve and family; adopted brother Marv Hayes and family; Sandra Forbes and family; and in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mark's parents, Harm and Doris Drew, and his sister Judy Boyens preceded him in death. Family and friends are welcome to gather at Mark and Mary's daughter Krista Kleve's house on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 from 2-6 PM to celebrate his adventures.
