Galvin, Doris Voss age 75, of San Diego, CA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 16, 2010. Born March 1, 1935 in Germany, Doris immigrated to the United States that same year with her parents and brother. They settled in Pierz, MN. Doris graduated from Sauk Centre High School and also attended St. Teresa's College in Winona. After college, she became a legal secretary for a county municipal judge. She married Lowell Bosshardt in 1955 and they had 5 daughters. They farmed in Sauk Centre and also lived in Paynesville, Nisswa, and Breezy Point. Doris married David Galvin in 1968, living in Brainerd and Duluth, with their 9 children. Doris and Dave retired to the San Diego, CA area in 1976, spending many wonderful years together with family and friends. Survived by daughters, Nancy (Vinny) Altomare, Lisa (Adair) Rosenow, Carla Kutter, Laura (Don Parker) Stark; stepchildren, David Jr., Kevin (Deborah), Bryan, Lucy Galvin, and Belle (William) Swanby; grandchildren, Ryan (Annie) Kutter, Michael and Tyler Rosenow, Augie and Ali Altomare, Lauren and Abigail Swanby, Michael, Kelly and Chance Galvin; and great-grandchild, Angelina Anderson. Also survived by brothers, John (Geri), Joseph (Susan), Fred (Janice), Donald (Grace), Robert (Janet) Voss; sisters, Rita Hulcy, Barbara (Ken) Bergwall, Mary (David) Smith; brother-in-law, Don King; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband David Galvin, daughter Gina, parents Art and Anna Voss, sisters Sally and Rosemary and brother Ted. Memorials can be made to San Diego Hospice foundation (sdhospice.org). Celebration of life on Wed., Sept. 29th at 2pm at American Legion Post 112 in Elk River MN. Private interment at Forest Hill Cemetery, Duluth, MN.
