Jerome Dial
Dial, Jerome 62, died unexpectedly on Sept. 10, 2010, in Shakopee, MN. Jerome was born Sept. 25, 1947, in Lake City, IA, to Alice Ann (Runquist) and Gerald Dial. He was a graduate of Lake City Community Schools and Hamline University. He was married to Anita McParland and later divorced. He was employed by the Metropolitan Council, Environmental Services division, for 35 years. Woodworking was among Jerome's many interests and he became an exceptionally accomplished cabinetmaker, creating fine furniture for his family and friends. Although he maintained his residence in Roseville, in recent years he rejuvenated his interest in farming and raised Highland cattle near Red Wing, MN. Jerome is survived by his sons, Jerrold of Duluth, MN, and Dorian of St. Paul; his beloved friend, Nina Reyes of Red Wing, MN, and her daughters Sydney and Avery; his parents, Alice Ann and Gerald of Lake City; sister, Heidi (John) Lazinski of Auburn, AL; brothers, Dwight (Jane) of Lake City, Neil (Paula) of El Dorado Hills, CA, Scott (Jan) of Stroud, OK; Todd (Melanie) of Shenandoah, IA; many nieces and nephews and other extended family, and the many, many friends he made throughout his life. Jerome was preceded in death by his brother, Capt. Lynn Dial and by his grandparents, Lydia and Dean Dial and Ruby and Oliver Runquist. Visitation Thursday (tomorrow) 4-9 PM at WULFF-GODBOUT FUNERAL HOME, 560 West 7th St., St. Paul. Visitation in Lake City, IA on Friday, 4-6 PM at Lampe Funeral Home. Private burial Saturday in Lake City will be followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM at Lake City Union Church.
