Naomi Caroline Kurtti
Kurtti, Naomi Caroline (Luebeck) August 22, 1924-September 12, 2010 Born to Max and Lucy Luebeck in Bemidji, MN in 1924. Died Sept. 12, 2010. Naomi attended Edgewood school in Beltrami County. Married Adolph Kurtti on January 18, 1944. They moved from the Bemidji area to Menahga, MN in 1949 where Adolph was a teacher and then moved to Mahnomen, MN in 1956. Naomi was employed as a nurse's aide at the Mahnomen Hospital for a time. She taught Sunday school at the First Lutheran Church and also sang in the choir. Naomi enjoyed gardening, quilting, bird watching, taking in foster children, traveling in their travel home and fishing, always catching more fish than Adolph. She moved to Lincoln Terrace in Twin Valley in 2005 and then to Keystone Memory Care in Prior Lake, MN in 2009. Survived by daughters, Shirley Wright, Forrest Lake, MN, Beverlie Sand, Big Sky, MT, Penny Gunderson, Brentwood, California and Kathy Utz (Clete), Twin Valley, MN; son, John Kurtti (Jeanne), Savage, MN; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Kurtti, Romeoville, IL; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Maxine Miller, Seattle, WA; sisters-in-law, Borgie Kurtti, Bemidji, MN, Jane (Kurtti) Bouning, Avon, MN and Elsie Luebeck, Fridley and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by mother and father; husband, Adolph; son, Bruce; 6 grandchildren; brothers, Ervin, Vernon, Jack, Rolland and Ray. Memorial service 11:00 AM, visitation 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 2 at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Avenue S., Edina. 952-924-4100
