Russell W. Ellison

Ellison, Russell "Mike" W. 84, of River Falls, Wisconsin, died on Monday, September 6, 2010. Russell was born November 8, 1925, son of Otto and Carrie Ellison. He grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Russell served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946, stationed in Japan. He was married to Alice Martzahn on November 28, 1946. Russell graduated from the University of Dubuque Iowa, after which the family made their home in the Minneapolis Minnesota area. Russell had his own contracting business building fine, quality homes and commercial buildings for many years and then worked as a construction consultant. Russell was preceded in death by his brother, Donald. He is survived by the mother of his children, Alice Martzahn Ellison; by four children, David (Joan) Ellison of Pelican Rapids, MN, Robert (Judy) Ellison of Roseville, MN, Dawn (Jim) Jordan, of Stillwater MN, and Paul (Jennifer) Ellison of Plymouth, MN; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild; and one sister, Delores Brain. Family and friends are gathering at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, at 3521 Settlers Way, Stillwater, MN 55082. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
