Johnson, Mitchell of Minneapolis and Rancho Mirage, CA, born November 28, 1935, died peacefully January 17, 2016 at the age of 80, surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer and Guillain-Barre syndrome. Mitch married Lois in 1957, his loving wife of 58 years. He joined his brother, Lynn, to build a beverage distributing business, earning the admiration of business associates and rivals alike. Mitch loved life. He shared his enthusiasm with his family, often inviting nephews and nieces up to the cabin for a weekend of sailing, fishing and water skiing. He mastered yachting, venturing up and down the Mississippi several times, crossing the gulf and cruising the ocean. He sailed too, navigating Lake Superior. Later, Mitch loved playing golf with his buddies and so much more. All along, he and Lois enjoyed making amazing, beautiful and dedicated friends. Preceded in death by his father, Yale; mother, Sara; sister, Gayle; brother, Lynn; son, Mark; and Clara, who helped raise him. Survived by his loving wife, Lois; children, Paul (Beverly), Amy (Tamara); grandchildren, Phillip and Sarah, and many loving relatives. Funeral service THURSDAY 11 AM at MOUNT ZION TEMPLE, 1300 Summit Ave., St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to donor's favorite charity.
