Bourdaghs, Versea Minnette (Heaney) Age 67, of Saint Paul. Versea passed away peacefully on October 4, 2008, after a brief struggle with cancer. Beloved Mother & Grandmother, she was born in Stillwater, MN on April 25, 1941 to Earl and Minnette Heaney. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Ruth Saice and Bessie Heaney. She is survived by her son, Michael (Satoko) and daughter, Jeannine (Hans); grandchildren, Walter and Sonia; former husband, Ronald; siblings, Loreda (Dale) Krongard, Monroe "Pete" (Cynthia) Heaney, Jackie (Richard) Pierre, Jeri (Carroll) Revoir, Vida (Angus) MacDonald, Merritt (Lavonne) Heaney, Michael (Theodora) Heaney, and Kathleen (Fred) Allen; sister-in-law, Brigitte Heaney; and many nieces and nephews. She was an acclaimed watercolor artist and active in the St. Paul Art Crawl; "hope" and "dreams" were definitive themes in her brilliantly colored paintings. She was also involved for decades in preschool childcare and became a positive force in the lives of many local families. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to charities that work to alleviate human suffering are appreciated. Versea herself supported Oxfam, Habitat for Humanity, and the Center for Victims of Torture. A Praise and Celebration of her life will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater.
