Bach, Philip F. Descendent of J.S. Bach Family, Dies Philip Frederick Bach, owner of Bach Piano Ser- vice, Inc. and former owner of the Bach Conn Organ Studio in Minneapolis, died March 28, 2008 from pneu- monia in Falls Church, VA at the age of 79. Born November 2, 1928 in Rochester, MN, son of Ethel and Adolph Bach, Mr. Bach graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army. In 1952 he married Shirley Honer of Rochester with whom he had three daughters. Mr. Bach was a Registered Piano Technician and member of the Piano Technicians Guild. He was a Mason and member of Minneapolis Lodge No. 19, and the Scottish Rite. He was also an active member in Parents Without Partners (PWP) and Singles All Together (SAT) for many years. Survived by three daughters, Debra Carpenter, Susan Weaver and Nancy Hertzog of Fairfax County, VA; sister, Barbara Garrison of Vashon Island, WA; six grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elsa Hutchinson, and brothers, John and David Bach. Mr. Bach was a respected musician, loving and devoted father, and mentor to many. He was inurned on June 2, 2008 in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery. All contributions should be forwarded to the Interlochen Center for the Arts.
