Volk, Gene A. Born Oct. 19, 1940. Owner operator of Volk & Sons Construction. Passed away July 31, 2008 at the age of 67. A hard worker, Gene lived life fully. Divorced from Marlene Dubas after 34 years of marriage. Survivors: girlfriend, Janet Makela, rural Buffalo; son, Christopher (fiancée, Sandie Heiskary) Volk, Rockford; daughter, Carrie Volk, Minnetonka; friend, Mark (Michelle) & their children Rance & Kennedy, North Branch; sister, Eva Schlichting, St. Peter; former wife, Marlene Volk, Minnetonka; sister-in-law, Margo Volk, Plymouth; grandchildren: David Cole-Volk, Brandon Volk; nephews & niece: Shane & Michael Volk, Tim Teschendorf, & Brenda Parker; grandnieces & nephews. Preceded by son, Craig; brother, Glenn; & mother, Mary (nee Davidson). Funeral 2 PM Mon., 8/4/08 at the Peterson Chapel - St. Michael/ Albertville in St. Michael. Visitation starts at Noon.
