Dorsey, Ardis Colleen passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at age 89 on September 28th, 2022. Ardis was preceded in death by parents Herman and Judith Hanson and brother Harlan Hanson. She is survived by husband William E. Dorsey, children William E. Dorsey Jr., Wendy Beckman (Jon), Andy Dorsey (Angela), Chris Dorsey (Sachiko) and 14 grandchildren. Ardis was born on a farm in Jackson MN on January 18th, 1933 to Herman and Judith Hanson. She was a twin along with brother Harlan, making a family of 4. After growing up on a farm of modest means, Ardis and her family moved to Minneapolis where work and prospects were more abundant. Ardis soon felt at home in the big city. Her family joined a new church community and she attended Roosevelt High School. Post-high school, Ardis studied at Golden Valley Bible College. She then attended Augsburg College and earned her nursing degree at The Swedish Hospital School of Nursing. She met her husband, Bill, at the V.A., where he was a psychiatrist, and she was a psychiatric nurse. They married in 1962 and had four children: Bill, Wendy, Andy and Chris. "Ardy" was an active member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, where she taught sunday school for many years. She was also active in The Minneapolis Woman's Club. Ardy was a true "people person". Her warm and infectious smile lit up the room and brightened everyone's day. Led by her deep and abiding faith, Ardy ceaselessly witnessed and shared God's love with everyone she met. She devoted her life to her husband and to her children. She will forever be remembered as a kind and giving soul and will be deeply missed by her family members and friends. A funeral will be held: Wednesday, November 23, 2022 Mount Olivet Lutheran Church Mpls., MN 10:00 Reviewal, 11:00 Service, Lunch following. Private interment. Flowers appreciated, memorials preferred to Mount Olivet Cathedral of the Pines Camp or Mount Olivet Church.
