Stiehm, Jack L. passed away in Farmington, Minnesota on November 7, 2022 at the age of 92. Jack was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 4, 1930 to John and Lila Stiehm. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nell, brother, Stanley, sisters, Shirley Madvig and Dolores Schaeffer. Jack will be remembered with love by his children, Lila (Julie), Timothy (Lou Ann), Charles (Nelia), and Mary (Mike). Jack will also be remembered by his loving grandchildren, Aaron, Kristy, Jessica, Sean, Matt, as well as 7 great-grandchildren, and members of his extended family and friends. Jack served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 - 1952. Jack was an Air Traffic Controller with the FAA from 1959 - 1980. Jack was a man of a distinct character, a developed intellect, silly and stubborn, with an entertaining amount of wit and cynicism, boasting an insatiable thirst for knowledge which was reflected by his sharp mind, and a seemingly unending treasure trove of random facts. He loved listening to talking books about history, his favorite subject. He will be dearly missed. There will be a private family memorial gathering at Fort Snelling on a future date.
