Vernon George Waldner

Waldner, Vernon George age 84 of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2022. Vern was born March 31, 1938 in Huron, SD to George and Esther Waldner. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School in North Minneapolis. He was a proud Navy veteran and a 52 year member of the American Legion. Vern married Sandra Waldner on February 14, 1959, and settled in Coon Rapids to raise their family. Vern worked for Federal Cartridge for 33 years. He was a member of the Anoka County Sheriff's Office Reserve Unit for 26 years and volunteered over 15,000 hours serving the community. He also volunteered many additional hours at Alexandra House, Camilia Rose Assisted Living, Epiphany Pines Senior Living, Mothers Against Drunk Driving meetings, and the Coon Rapids Senior Center. Vern was preceded in death by his parents, his son Vernon Waldner Jr, his stepmother Sally Waldner, and brothers Larry Hofer and Terry Hofer. Vern is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Cherylee Iverson (Dwayne), grandchildren Jeremiah Quinn (Emily), Sarah Iverson (Kenny), Walter Iverson (Chelly), great-grandchild Connor Iverson, sister Patricia Anderson, sister-in-laws Ginger Hofer and Cheryl Hofer, along with many relatives and friends. Funeral services Monday, November 14, 2022 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior at Faith Lutheran Church, 11115 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, and lunch to follow. Interment will take place at Ft.
