He graduated from North High School and went on to study Drafting and Estimating at Dunwoody Institute. Dave and Jean purchased their home in Crystal in 1965 and he was very proud of his yard and his rose garden as well as his vegetable gardens. His winter hobbies included cooking, baking sourdough French bread and breadsticks for all family gatherings. He also shared his bread with friends & neighbors during the holiday season. He worked as an Estimator and Project Manager for several Commercial General Contracting companies in the Twin Cities area. In 1996 he was awarded the Skill, Responsibility and Integrity Award from the Association of General Contractors of Minnesota. Dave coached Park and Rec hockey for his 3 sons, was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Brunswick United Methodist Church in Crystal for many years, and was a Scoutmaster for Michael and John. He was very proud that they both achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, as did he. After retirement, he volunteered at local food shelves PRISM and NEAR. Dave deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also found great happiness over the last 50+ years at his 2 yellow cabins on the east side of Sugar Lake (Wright County), where he enjoyed mowing, making improvements/repairs, growing & picking apples and enjoying the sunsets. The cabins hold many cherished memories for his entire family. We love you, and you will be missed.
