Van Sickle, Joanne Leanor (née Waage) Age 79, of Andover, died unexpectedly June 19, 2022. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Roy; her parents, Norman and Annette (née Ekblad); and infant son, John. She is survived by her sons, Gary (Noelle) and Greg; granddaughters, Grace and Valerie; and brother, Roger. She grew up in St. Paul, and after graduating from Harding High School in 1961, attended nurses training school in Crookston. As an LPN, she worked at Bethesda Hospital, and later Lakeridge Health Care Center in Roseville. Her love of helping people was a thread she wove throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time at the cabin, tending to her flower gardens, taking photos, and tinkering around the house. She loved socializing with family and friends, and strangers alike. She so looked forward to celebrating birthdays and holidays, and always had a card or a cake for everyone at the ready. Her greatest joy was her granddaughters Grace and Valerie. She always looked forward to visits, phone calls and stories to keep up with all the events of their lives. Our family's unexpected loss will leave a void we will strive to patch, but never fill. Funeral service 11 AM Friday, June 24 at ROSELAWN CEMETERY CHAPEL, 803 W. Larpenteur Ave., Roseville. Visitation from 4-8 PM Thursday at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N.
