Karis, Ryan Neil passed away peacefully, at home with family around him, on Jan.15, 2022, from cancer. He was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Earl and Henrietta Delp. He just turned 71. Ryan is survived by his wife, Karen; his mother; sister, Charlene (Mark); children, Andrew, Rebekah (Ahmad), Emily (Josh), and Rachel (Brandon); and his beloved grandchildren, Carmen, Melody, Sienna and Ryan. Ryan spent his life serving others. After Purdue University graduation, he began working in south Georgia building affordable houses. Out of this work Habitat for Humanity was formed. Newly married, Ryan and Karen went to Zaire to help the 2nd Habitat project get started. A few years later they were founding members of Jubilee Partners, a refugee resettlement organization that has hosted more than 4000. people from 35 countries. After moving to Minnesota, Ryan worked for Habitat for Humanity for 16 years, worked as in independent contractor and finished his working years at Rebuilding Together Minnesota, using his building skills to help seniors stay in their homes safely. Ryan loved being a Dad and spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and hiking. He is remembered for his patience, kindness, wisdom and the great amount of popcorn he consumed. He will be greatly missed. His most recent work colleague said, "The world is less because he is gone, but better because he lived, he worked and he cared." Memorials can be sent to Rebuilding Together Minnesota or to the Minnehaha Food Shelf where Ryan was volunteering until this last month.
