Brands, Jennifer Marguerite Age 52, died at home in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota with her husband and daughter on November 25, 2021 after a 2 year battle with colon cancer. Jennifer is survived by her husband Scott Brands; daughter Skye Brands; parents, Gerald and Kathleen Worshek; sisters Penny Purcell, Elizabeth Iddings (Troy), Susannah Feinstein; brother Frank Worshek (Rebecca Sager); aunt Virginia Miller. Further survived by other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends. Preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Donald and Bernice Miller, with whom she shared a special relationship. Jennifer was born on March 24, 1969 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. She grew up in Maple Grove, Minnesota and attended Osseo Junior and Senior High where she met many friends who would remain close to her throughout her life. She had a few long-term jobs in her life, and made friends at those that would become lifelong. She met Scott Brands while working at ExpressScripts in 1997 and they were married on May 16, 2003 at their home in Brooklyn Center. Their daughter Skye was born in 2008 and Jennifer's greatest joy was being a mom to her. Jennifer was a planner, often making plans for travel with friends or fun activities for Skye. She loved to have family get togethers and was the planner for family holiday or birthday gatherings, and was famous for her amazing Christmas cookie trays. She loved decorating the yard with plants and flowers, and especially loved the times spent making fairy gardens in the yard with Skye. She loved trying new restaurants or food trucks and would try pretty much anything with a coupon or a good deal. She loved taking trips to Minnesota state parks with Scott and Skye and dog Ozzy with their camper. She loved being Up North most of all, be it at a cabin on a lake, or Duluth and all points up the North Shore of Lake Superior. Diagnosed with colon cancer at a young age, Jennifer would like to encourage everyone to get a colonoscopy, which can now be covered at age 45 under many health plans. Jennifer will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, a beloved daughter, sister, niece and true friend. A service of remembrance will be held at Elim Lutheran Church at 3978 West Broadway in Robbinsdale, Minnesota on Saturday, December 11th at 10am. There will be a short reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Colon Cancer Coalition coloncancercoalition.org or to the Elim Church Foundation secure.myvanco.com/L-YZK5/campaign/C-11BE8
