James Kent Smiler

Smiler, James Kent On November 11, 2021, James Kent Smiler of Panama City, FL passed away at the age of 60. Jim was born April 9, 1961, in Minneapolis, MN. In 1983, he joined the US Air Force as an Egress Systems Technician, a profession he was passionately devoted to for the rest of his life. For nearly 40 years he was a technician, team leader, and supervisor. He is survived by his wife Trish, his parents Dale and Donna Smiler of San Diego CA, sisters Jodi (Dave) Engberg of Prior Lake, MN, Jill White of San Diego CA and Burdette Creamer of Southport FL, children Kasey (Pat Veazey) Franks, Jeremy Smiler, Nicole Narloch, Logan Franks, Shelby (Sean) Smiler Nguyen, 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jim asked, "Please don't hold a service." He and his family kindly ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to prostate cancer research in his name.
