Harnish, Dave C. of Edina, (previously from Minnetonka and born in Cloquet) passed away surrounded by love on November 10, 2021 at the age of 80. Preceded in death by his father, Roy M.; mother, Thankful (Elmgreen); brother Walf; & loving wife, Sandy. He is survived by his adoring children; Matt (Stacy) Hastad, Amy (Adam) Klaphake, Lindsey Voigt, and Katie Harnish, grandchildren; Cole & Sydney Hastad, Johnny & Remington Voigt, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Dave was an accomplished executive, avid entrepreneur, graduate of UMD, and a U.S. Army veteran, but his most coveted role was that of Daddy and Grampa D. You could always find him grabbing a doughnut or piece of French toast with a smile on his face, flashing his signature peace sign and chatting up everyone in sight. Dave was a showman, always playing a tune on the piano from a '50's classic to a gospel song that was so beautiful it could leave a tear in your eye. He had a brilliant mind, spending countless hours collecting and reading books, always learning, "even at 80." Dave loved to run, completing several marathons, spent years as a competitive ski racer often sharing about the time he jumped the highest wooden ski jump, had so many wonderful memories on the golf course with his dad and loved to feel the wind blow through his hair on his Harley. He was a huge fan of the Golden Gophers and thought he'd make the best coach for the team. However, his favorite hobby of all was spending time with his family. He loved cheering them on and spent every day doing so. Dave was the most loving, caring, and kind man on Earth. He was always willing to help a friend, share a smile, and inspire others with his positive attitude. The world without him seems unimaginable, but with his always handy advice, we will take the grief "One Day at a Time." We love you Daddy, we love you Grampa and we will always hold you close in our hearts. Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, November 21st at 11:00 am with a visitation 30 minutes prior and luncheon to follow at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 West 50th St., Edina, MN 55436, Telephone: (952) 920-3996
