Freeburg, John N., Jr. age 88, passed away November 8th, 2021 at his home in Robbinsdale with his beloved wife at his side. Preceded in death by his parents John and Ruth (Carpenter) Freeburg; brothers Gordon, Garold and Roland Freeburg; brother-in-law Bernard Reisberg; sisters-in-law Roseanne, and Bea Freeburg; and niece Ruth Anne Freeburg. Survived by his loving wife and college sweetheart, Carol of 64 years. He will be greatly missed by his sons John N. Freeburg III, James (Tara) Freeburg, & Charles (Lisa) Freeburg; grandchildren Alex, Merdena, Lara, Jack and Charlie; sisters-in-law Joanne Reisberg & Carol Freeburg; and his many nieces and nephews. Born in Mpls., he grew up in Anoka, graduating from Anoka High School, class of '51. Enlisting in the Air Force, he served four years to include overseas duty and upon Honorable discharge, enrolled at the University of Minnesota, graduating with a B.S. degree in '58. After graduation, he went to work in sales for Goodin Company, a plumbing and heating wholesaler in downtown Mpls. The company grew and expanded and he retired as Sales Manager after 32 yrs. He loved being a part of the community and was active in Toastmasters for 20 yrs. He served on the Church Council at Salem Lutheran, and was an active member at Elim Lutheran Church. John coached church basketball and loved coaching his sons' Little League teams. He expertly taught Drivers Education classes for seniors and they appreciated his instruction and humor. He loved traveling and he and Carol traveled to China, through-out Europe, and around South America. They also travelled to Sweden several times to visit relatives. He loved spending time with the family at his cabin on Big Eagle Lake, where he could enjoy nature and work on his projects. John was a wonderful loving husband, a kind and accepting father, and warm-hearted friend. John's Memorial service will be held Wednesday, Nov 17th, 2021 at 11:00 with visitation one hour prior at Elim Lutheran Church, 3978 W Broadway, Robbinsdale.
