Emkovik, Catherine (Cathy, Cay) February 23, 1934 - October 14, 2021 Age 87, of Inver Grove Heights, MN, passed away October 14, 2021 after a long life filled with love and helping others. She is survived by her family, daughter Caitlin (Craig) Griffin, son Scott (Lisa) Emkovik, son Andre Emkovik, grandsons Andy and Alex Emkovik, sister Martha (Jon) Morgan, sister-in-law Ann Louise Rolloff, nieces, nephew, and many friends. Catherine was very involved with the arts. She enjoyed classical music, modern dance, architecture, and nearly all forms of art as well as being an accomplished pianist and modern dancer. Fashion was a big deal and she could immediately tell if the color you were wearing was right for you (or not) - impeccable taste. She was a lifelong lover of animals, caring for numerous pets over the years. Catherine became a Bemidji State hockey fan and booster. She was engaged in social justice issues and animal welfare. Native American culture and welfare were of particular interest to her. Catherine also loved going up to her cabin and spending time with her grandsons. She was eternally optimistic and made everyone she met feel better. She will be greatly missed by family, neighbors, and many friends. Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years John B. Emkovik, brother John Rolloff, and sister Margaret Rolloff. Her life will be celebrated Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11:00 AM with a memorial service at the Unity Church- Unitarian at 733 Portland Ave. St. Paul, MN 55104.
