Braschayko, Julie M. Born 7/10/89 in Mpls, Died 9/30/21 in Rochester. Preceded in death by her grandparents Anne & John Braschayko, Arlene and Archie Zeithamer; & Godmother MaryAnne Devereaux. Survived by her parents, Avis and Nick Braschayko; siblings Kate Braschayko, Elizabeth Braschayko, Carole (Ryan) Hendricks, Stephen (Bre) Braschayko; nieces, Amelia Hendricks and Luella Braschayko; Godson Barron Zeithamer. Julie Graduated from: Coon Rapids HS (2007), NTI - Architectural Drafting (2009), Alexandria Technical College - Carpentry (2011) and Masonry (2012) and Carnegie Institute - Neurodiagnostic Technologist (2019). Julie started playing hockey at age 4. Her girls' hockey team pretty much stayed together through high school, winning many Youth Hockey Tournaments. Julie was the goalie and Captain of her HS team. They won a trip to MN State HS Tournament in 2012, finishing in second place. Julie was named to the All-Tournament team. Julie was the school's Cardinal Mascot her senior year. She was active in 4-H in Anoka County and at the State level. She led the Costuming Crew at the Minnesota State Fair for 4 years. When Julie graduated from NTI during the Financial Crisis and no jobs were available in the building industry, she returned to school earning her Carpentry and Masonry degrees. Julie worked as brick layer and welder for precast, until she suffered a very serious TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury - 2016). She was unable to work for 2 years. After TBI, she became very interested in how our brains work. She went back to school and earned a Degree and Licensure as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist. She worked at Motts Children's Hospital (part of University of MI Hospitals) in Ann Arbor, MI. Most recently she was working at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. Julie's smile could light up any room. She was a kind and caring person, always looking for ways to help others. You could find her playing cards with her Great Uncle in the nursing home. Julie was a kid at heart and loved spending time with her Godson, nieces and second cousins. She loved to play in Nerf gun battles, dress in costumes for games of pretend, build Legos, watch kid movies and many other fun activities. Julie supported many important causes with her bike rides and walks, ie MS 150, Epilepsy Foundation MI, LLS Century Ride, etc. SAVE has been an especially important organization since 2007 when she lost a dear friend. She has ridden in their fall bike charity event every year, except when she was living in Michigan. In Lieu of Flowers, we ask that you make a donation to SAVE. save.org/.
