Reichow, Roy Allen 67, of Northfield, MN, passed away in his home surrounded by family on September 13, 2021. Roy was born on June 20, 1954, to Raymond and Rosemary (Hamburg) Reichow. He grew up in St. Paul, MN and graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School. In 1974, Roy married Michelle (Lundberg) Reichow and together they raised their family primarily in East Bethel, MN, and started Reichow Parquet Flooring - servicing the greater Twin Cities with residential hardwood flooring installation, sanding and refinishing needs for more than 40 years. His skillful work was quickly noticed by many developers, contractors, and designers, and he quickly built a reputation as a leader in the industry. His craftmanship was featured in prominent properties such as the James J. Hill House, The Edina Country Club and Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral. With his extensive knowledge in hardwood flooring, Roy started National Wood Flooring Consultants in 2000 and provided pre-construction consultations to contractors as well as flooring inspections to homeowners, home builders, wood floor professionals, flooring manufacturers, attorneys, and insurance companies. Often referred to as "The Floor Doctor," Roy continued to provide consultations nationally while also working with local and international flooring manufacturers. He also served as a board member of NWFA Certified Professionals, a featured speaker at industry conferences, an instructor for the IICRC Wood Floor Maintenance Technician training as well as a writer for Hardwood Floor Business Magazine. Roy's wood floor vocation was his calling as it was core to his being. He enjoyed conversations with colleagues about wood flooring and was always willing to share his knowledge, his mistakes and how he learned from them. His mission was to pay it forward in the industry, a mission he lived to the very end. Roy was a loving husband, dedicated father and grandfather to his close-knit family. He loved to travel with his wife and family and enjoyed spending quality time with them often. He had a quick wit and a kind heart, and will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. Roy was survived by his wife Michelle (Lundberg) Reichow, daughter Heather Kneefe (Tara Close), son Brent Reichow, granddaughters Maddison and Mackenzie Kneefe, sister Rosanne Onischuk (Bruce), brother Randy Reichow (Tina), extended family members. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Harriet Island Pavilion at 4pm on Sunday, Oct 17, 2021 with a reception following the service.
