Frey, Mary Frost Age 87 of Edina, MN and Naples, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after several years of Alzheimer's disease. Preceded in death by her father, Dr. Russell Frost; and her mother, Katherine; sister, Katherine and her brother, Thomas. Survived by her loving husband, Gene; sons, James (Mary W. Frey) and John (Jane Letourneau); daughter, Carol Frey Wolfe (Daniel); grandchildren, Sarah Frey Wilson (Andrew), Peter Frey (Flor), Andrew Wolfe (Morgan), Molly Wolfe and Jack Wolfe; great- grandchildren, Ella, Alice and Caleb Wilson, Sofia and Ruby Frey, Rocklyn Wolfe; sister, Sarah Frost Evans of Murphys, CA; nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Mary graduated from St. Margaret's Academy of Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota. Mary met the love of her life, Gene Frey, while attending the U of M. They married in St. Paul in 1954 and celebrated their 66th anniversary in 2020. While raising their children, Mary started her career as a dedicated community volunteer and leader. Organizations that benefited from her leadership included: The League of Catholic Women (member and chair), Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis (18-year board service, Board Chair, Life of Distinction Award), Catholic Charities USA (Trustee), Christ Child Society of Naples (member and President), Fun Time Academy of Naples (Director Emeriti and Board Secretary), Catholic Community Foundation of St. Paul (Founding Director and Vice Chair), Habitat for Humanity of Collier County (Board of Directors) and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of St. Thomas. Mary enjoyed traveling the world with family and friends but equally loved family gatherings in Emily, MN at their lake cabin. As much as Mary loved being a mother, she reveled in being a Nana to her five grandchildren. Mary was a quiet, dignified woman who made a tremendous difference in the lives of so many people. As her family, we count ourselves fortunate beyond words to have had this kind and generous woman in our lives. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, July 21st 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church 5071 Eden Ave., Edina, MN. following (livestream at olgparish.org/mass/…). Visitation Tuesday, July 20th 4-6 p.m. and 1 hour prior to mass both at church. Private burial at Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Catholic Charities of Twin Cities c/o The Mary F.
