Pate, Jonathan Holmes age 55. Born August 23, 1965 in St. Paul, MN. He passed away unexpectedly on March 31st, 2021. He is survived by wife, Cindy, son Zachary (Marissa), daughter Jessica and grandson Fitz. Survived by parents Karen and Galen Pate and sister Kristen Pate. He was preceded in death by sisters Laura and Elizabeth. April 20th, 1990 Jon married his best friend Cindy. They preceded to have two children, and 1 grandson; they were the center of Jon's universe. He was so proud of the wonderful and compassionate people Jessica and Zach have become. In 1991 Jon started Pate Bonding, Inc., where he was a successful owner and bond agent for 30 years. He was simultaneously the former owner and chairman of Granite Re, a national surety company. Most of his employees have been with him from the beginning. Jon ran his businesses as part of his family. Jon was charitable and led by example. He demonstrated this time and time again, supporting many local charities, but the most important to him was Living Well Disability Services. For many years, he hosted an annual Farm Fest party to support Living Well. Jon's parents taught him to be kind, loving, and passionate about everything he believed in and he truly lived by his motto, "Go big or Go home". Jon was a farmer at heart and spent a lot of time outdoors on his tractors. He loved anything with a motor. Whether it was dirt biking, snowmobiling, motorcycles, or flying his plane. He loved everything outdoors, including pheasant hunting, deer hunting and being with his horses and dogs. He also spent many hours in his wood shop, often creating beautiful pieces for the people in his life. Jon had so many talents which he used mostly to create for others. Jon was larger than life. His generosity with his friendships, time and knowledge was an inspiration to us all. He was our superman and he will be missed forever. There will be an outdoor walk through visitation on Friday, April 9 from 2-6 PM at the Pate residence: 7821 Babcock Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077.
