Andrew Colin Weesner
Weesner, Andrew Colin 52, of Shelby Township, died suddenly of a tragic incident related to a long struggle with mental health and alcohol abuse, on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. He was born May 6, 1968, in Edina, MN, the son of Colin and Katherine (Betz) Weesner. Andrew was a self employed software engineer which he loved to do. He was a gifted joke teller and enjoyed a good party or social gathering. He was protective of those he loved, but struggled with healthy ways to express that. Andrew was the occasional assistant soccer coach for his daughters teams. He was the comic relief for those in pain, despite the profound pain he lived and struggled with. Surviving are his two daughters, Lauren and Megan Weesner; his mother, Katherine Weesner of Apple Valley, MN; father, Colin Weesner of Shelby Township; siblings, Katie (Shawn) Olesky, Peter Weesner, and Dana (Gary) Elfering; mother of his children, Nicole Weesner, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Cremation has taken place and services will be scheduled at a later date in Minnesota. Arrangements were handled by Kaatz Funeral Directors, Mount Clemens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local AA inter-group and please check in on your loved ones struggling with mental health or substance abuse issues. Condolences: kaatzfunerals.com
