Buchok, James Cummings On Monday, March 22, James Cummings Buchok sadly passed away at the age of 39 after struggling with addiction and substance abuse. Addiction challenges everyone and everything within its orbit, yet still at the center is a real person. Let's remember that person: our brother, our son, and our friend. Those that knew Jim, know he loved Star Wars, KU basketball, and was always the earliest adopter of the latest gadgets. Every time we need help fixing something around the house, in our car, or on our phone - we will think of our go-to guy, Jim. Jim's parents, Marsha and George, remain proud of his accomplishments in life. Here's one that sticks out: Jim is one of the few to achieve Eagle Scout. Jim's brother remembers fondly the mischief they got into together and is grateful for his guidance in teaching him good taste in music. His sister remembers Jim's tender and loving ways with his nephew, William. Jim was loved. His parents never relented in their support, care, and love for Jim. His aunts, uncles, grandparents, and extended community stepped up for him consistently and incredibly. Jim is survived by his father, George Buchok; his siblings Tom (Liz Porto) and Anna Aschauer (Henry); his grandfather James Patrick Cummings; and his many aunts and uncles: Kathleen Cummings (John Thoma), Patti Just, Margaret O'Brian (Tom), Barb Forsman (Keith), Annette Beach (Ted), Caroline Jackson (Jerry), Roman Buchok (Marie), Carmen Eadie (Jack), and James Buchok (Pam Clarke). Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Marsha. Our family cannot say "Thank you!" enough to everyone who stood by Jim through thick and thin. May the force be with you, Jimbo. A private service will be held with close family members later this spring. In lieu of flowers, the family would be thrilled for donations to Trinity Sober Homes online at trinitysoberhomes.org/… or via check addressed to "Trinity Sober Homes" at 983 Ashland Ave, St. Paul, MN 55104.
