Parta, Robert "Bob" Carl 09/08/1942 - 03/06/2021 Age 78, (09/08/1942 - 03/06/2021) son of Russell O. and June (Pastoret) Parta of New York Mills, MN, passed away March 6th, 2021 at his home in Roseville, MN surrounded by family. Bob grew up in New York Mills, MN spending summers with family and friends at Big Pine Lake while working at the family newspaper business. He attended New York Mills High School (Class of 1960) where he was the quarterback of the football team and graduated as valedictorian. After high school, he attended St. Olaf College (Class of 1964) and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in political science. He then went on to serve as a volunteer and lead administrator for the Peace Corps in India where he met his beloved wife Pankaj. Upon returning to the United States, he attended the University of Minnesota Law School and earned his Juris Doctorate. Bob remained an avid lifelong Gophers fan. He served as an attorney in both private practice in the City of Anoka as a law partner and in public service as Chief Deputy County Attorney for Anoka County. Bob was always focused on the greater good and for many years was a volunteer with the Allina hospital board, coaching, and other community endeavors. As successful as he was throughout his career and his dedication to community service, his greatest passion was his family. His love and care for his wife, children, and grandchildren was immeasurable. He is survived by his wife, Pankaj of over 53 years; Daughter Sonya Parta Traisci of Blaine, MN and Son Justin (Kim) Parta of Little Canada, MN; grandchildren Ava, Lila, Katherine, and Abigail; Brother Russell Eugene (Lynne) Parta of Washington, DC; Brother Michael (Jan) Parta of Perham, MN; nieces and nephews; and countless cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Amazing strength, compassion, and wit. Those were traits Bob carried throughout his life. He had the uncanny ability to spread joy and laughter to all who knew him. His optimism was contagious and brought out the best in everyone. He will be immensely missed by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined.
