Peterson, Dr. Robert L. "Bob" age 77 of Chanhassen passed away on February 23, 2021, in Florida. Bob is now directing a choir of angels after an incredible career inspiring young musicians in Japan, Belgium, Germany, Edina, St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Chesterton Academy and Macalester College. He retired in May of 2019 after 20 years as the Music Director of the Twin Cities Catholic Chorale. Bob was equally as accomplished conducting an orchestra, directing a choir, skiing down a mountain in Zermatt, bass fishing on Lake Ida, singing in a night club, golfing or woodworking. A true Renaissance man! Bob could LIGHT UP A ROOM by walking in the door! He was dearly loved by students, colleagues and choir members alike! He was a phenomenal teacher, wonderful singer and accomplished conductor. Survived by loving wife, Patricia (Briley) Peterson, daughter Laura (Brian) Bittner, granddaughters, Emily (Johnny) Jay, Katie and Julia, great grandson, Jackson Jay, siblings, Jim (Pam) Peterson, Karen (Ron Henderson) Jerry (Terry) Peterson, loving family members, many friends, and a large music community. Celebration of Life: Saturday, May 22nd, St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 13600 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN. Service at 11:00 am. There is no visitation. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to 250 people. Masks are required, and social distancing will be observed. The service will be live-streamed at: youtu.be/…. It is highly encouraged that people attend the service virtually. After family members are seated in the church at 10:30 AM, colleagues, friends and former students will be admitted by the ushers at 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Vocal Scholarships are preferred to Evergreen Club (Attn: Leigh Kallestad, 1723 Crosby Rd, Wayzata MN 55391) or American Choral Directors Association of MN FMC Endowment Fund, (Attn: Bruce Becker, 13288 Downey Trail, Apple Valley MN 55124) or charity of donor’s choosing.
